



Gifford Lake is located in the heart of the Manistee National Forest, near Baldwin, Michigan. The 44 acre lake is surrounded by more than 50 summertime cottages and year-round homes lined by majestic oak and pine trees. The natural and sandy beachfront offers tranquility and peacefulness to residents.
Gifford Lake is one of 116 lakes in Lake County,
Michigan. It is one of the few that is designated a no-motor lake by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. This restriction allows for safe swimming, fishing, paddle boating, kayaking, sailing and more. There is no public access to the lake. Away from the lake, there are many opportunities to hunt and fish, hike and ride snowmobiles and ATVs on nearby trails.
Gifford Lake is a place for the nature lovers and home to a wide variety of wildlife. Loons, eagles, hummingbirds and deer often visit. Occasionally, bear and bobcats are spotted in the woods. Plenty of bass and bluegill fill the spring-fed waters of Gifford Lake.
All in all, Gifford Lake and the surrounding area offer something to enjoy year round for those who call it…“My Gifford Lake.”
