
Gifford Lake Association Remembers Gerry Woronko

​The Gifford Lake Association (GLA) is saddened by the death of Gerry Woronko, longtime Association member and neighbor to all. Please note details below and full obituary HERE.

Geraldine B. Woronko (Kozal) age 92 of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday January 18, 2025.
Gerry was preceded in death by her loving husband Frank, her son Matthew and her daughter in law Kathy (Sparks) Woronko; her brother-in law Robert Woronko and sister-in-law Sari Bolen. Surviving are her children Mike (Jan) Woronko, Mark (Kipp Homrich) Woronko and Mary Woronko (Jeff Paszkowski); her grandchildren Julie (Ryan) VanRhee, Kimberly (Nenad) Stojcic, Matthew (Abigail) Woronko and Mark (Christina) Woronko; four great grandchildren Olivia and Logan VanRhee, Andrei Stojcic and Payton Woronko; her sister Carol Szost; several nieces and nephews.
Gerry graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1950. She married her husband Frank in 1952. Gerry then worked outside the home as a bookkeeper for various companies in between raising her four children. She was an active member of Holy Spirit Church along with her husband Frank serving in many capacities around the Church.
Gerry will be lovingly remembered as a great cook, serving many wonderful meals for her family. She enjoyed golf in her younger years and meeting her friends for their monthly luncheons.
Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Educational Foundation.

2024 Gifford Lake Association Picnic, Rousing Good Time!
It was a fun-filled Saturday of sports, games, great food and more as the Gifford Lake Association held its Annual Meeting and Summer Picnic.
​
There was plenty of competition by watercraft, foot power and brain power with winners enjoying prizes for their prowess.

Gifford Lake Association welcomes new homeowners and members Tom and Mandie Peterson
The Midland, Michigan couple, shown in daughter Emily's wedding photo at left, purchased the former Sherna Graham property on Frick Rd. last summer.
“We were interested in an escape on the west side of the state since it would be close to home and easy for our kids from Grand Rapids to visit,“ Tom said.

New Construction on Lake Planned
The Vander Lugt's well-loved A-Frame on Ranger Road is now a piece of Gifford Lake history. The small structure was torn down on December 5, 2023 to make room for a larger dwelling. New construction is expected to begin in the spring with completion set for the fall.
